I don’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t super busy; I tend to figuratively overfill my plate. Now that I am a stay at home mom, I still don’t have much free time on my hands to do, well, nothing. There comes a point in my life where I start to feel overwhelmed or unbalanced, because I am not setting aside time each day for myself. When that happens, I make sure to stop and reevaluate my schedule so that it includes time to unwind.
My time alone usually consists of a good read, hot herbal tea, dark dark chocolate, and pure silence. Even if its just for 10 minutes, it reboots me and clears my mind. Finding time in this busy life without constant noise, social media, and electronics restores you to take on the rest of your day. I encourage you to schedule a few minutes each day and disconnect from the world to reground yourself. I would love to hear what daily rituals you love, and how you felt after.
